Our History

SASSPA was formed in January 1994 by a group of SASS from across New South Wales. Their primary focus was to enhance the professional image of SASS and be recognised as providers of vital support to achieve best student outcomes.  

During its 20 years, SASSPA workshops, conferences, seminars and training days delivered across New South Wales have proved to be a great success and a welcome opportunity for SASS to develop professionally. Each year SASSPA holds seminars in Term 2 and an Annual Conference in August focusing primarily on the development of school administrative leaders and aspiring leaders.  

The State Team comprises of nine dedicated School Administrative Managers from across NSW. These committee members volunteer their time to ensure that SASS continue to have an opportunity to develop professionally, and work collaboratively with Department of Education (DoE) and outside bodies to that end. In 2014 SASSPA affiliated with the Australian Association of Government School Administrators (AAGSA) to seek representation on matters that impact on national education and to raise the profile of School Administrators by gaining recognition as a significant consultative body.  

SASSPA continues to grow its membership each year and we welcome new members. SASSPA's future focus will continue to be the development of the knowledge, skills and abilities of school administrative leaders and aspiring leaders.
